Enable 2FA for your website Editor account

  1. Log in to Your WordPress Dashboard:
    • Head to your WordPress website and log in using your Editor credentials.
  2. Access Wordfence Login Security:
    • On the left side, find and click on “Login Security” in the admin menu.
  3. Choose and Configure 2FA:
    • Install your preferred 2FA app, e.g. Google Authenticator, FreeOTP, and Authy, etc, on your mobile phone. Follow the on-screen instructions to set it up. When using an authenticator app, scan the QR code or enter the secret key.
  4. Backup Codes:
    • Backup codes are for situations where you can’t use your primary 2FA method. Store them in a safe place.
  5. Verify and Save:
    • Complete the setup by verifying your chosen 2FA method. This involves entering a code sent to your selected mobile app. Save your settings.
  6. Test 2FA:
    • Log out of your WordPress account and log back in. Enter the 2FA code when prompted, along with your password.
  7. Done!
    • Congratulations! Your Editor account now has an added layer of security with Two-Factor Authentication.

Remember to keep your 2FA method secure and, if applicable, store any backup codes in a safe place. Your account is now better protected against unauthorized access.
